What data we collect

When you use Storydust, we collect the following information to provide our service:

• Account information: your email address and password (securely hashed).
• Child profile data: your child's first name, age, gender, and selected story themes or interests.
• Payment information: processed securely through Stripe. We never store your full card number on our servers.
• Story delivery data: records of stories generated and delivered, including timestamps and delivery preferences.

How we use your data

Your data is used exclusively to:

• Generate personalized bedtime stories tailored to your child.
• Create watercolor-style illustrations for each story.
• Deliver stories to your email inbox at your chosen time.
• Process subscription payments and manage your account.
• Send transactional emails (welcome, billing updates, etc.).

Who we share data with

We work with trusted third-party services to deliver Storydust. Your data is shared only as needed to provide the service:

• Anthropic (Claude): your child's name, age, gender, and interests are sent to generate story text. No data is retained by Anthropic after generation.
• fal.ai: scene descriptions (not personal data) are sent to generate illustrations.
• Resend: your email address is used to deliver stories and transactional emails.
• Stripe: handles all payment processing securely.
• Supabase: securely hosts our database and authentication.

We will never sell your data to third parties. Period.

Data retention

We retain your account and child profile data for as long as your account is active. Story delivery records are kept so you can revisit past stories in your archive. If you delete your account, all personal data and story history will be permanently removed within 30 days.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data and account.
• Export your data in a portable format.
• Opt out of marketing communications at any time.

Children's privacy

Storydust is a service for parents and guardians. We do not knowingly collect data directly from children. All account creation and management is done by the parent or legal guardian. The child profile information (name, age, interests) is provided by the parent solely to personalize the story experience.
